“Babar and the Professor” is a classic children’s picture book featuring King Babar, Queen Celeste, & their friends in Celesteville. The story introduces the Old Lady and her brother, Professor Grifaton, a butterfly collector, along with his children Colin and Nadine. The children discover a cave, which becomes their playhouse and the site of a costume ball. During their adventures, Alexander (one of Babar’s children) falls down a tunnel in the cave. Professor Grifaton investigates and finds an underground river that connects to Celesteville lake.
