The Lost Princess of Oz is the eleventh book in L. Frank Baum’s celebrated Oz series, first published in 1917. The story centers on the mysterious disappearance of Princess Ozma, the beloved ruler of Oz, along with the sudden loss of all the kingdom’s major magical tools—including Glinda’s Great Book of Records and Dorothy’s magic picture. Dorothy, the Wizard, and their friends set out on a quest to find Ozma and recover the stolen magic. Meanwhile, in a distant part of Oz, Cayke the cookie cook discovers that her magic gold dishpan has also been stolen, prompting her and the Frogman to embark on their own search. Eventually, the two search parties join forces, facing magical obstacles and uncovering that Ugu the Shoemaker is behind the thefts. The adventure ends with Ozma’s rescue and the restoration of peace and magic in Oz.

The book is notable for its themes of redemption, particularly through the character of Ugu, who ultimately seeks to atone for his actions. The story also introduces memorable new characters and settings, maintaining the whimsical and imaginative style characteristic of the Oz series.

As part of the “Famous Forty” Oz books, it is a must-have for collectors and fans of the series, continuing the legacy of Baum’s world of fancy and adventure.

The book features vibrant illustrations by Neill, whose artwork is synonymous with the Oz series.

This edition is highly sought after by collectors & Oz enthusiasts.
